After my very long post about my daughter weaning, I guess I'm still on the same tangent. I had a short list of things I wanted to knock out before baby comes in December.
1) Wean...gently. - DONE!
2) Stop sleeping in Baby Bear's bed.
3) Potty train!
So...#2. I'm confident that I could probably just get up and leave. She probably wouldn't figure it out until morning. At least, not the first night. Part of the issue is where I'm going to sleep. I would LOVE to sleep next to Daddy Bear again. But truth be told, that only happened a couple of nights per week before having a baby anyway. Daddy Bear is a HORRIBLE snorer (hooray for sleep apnea) and refuses to part with his squishy taco bed that he brought to this relationship. He jokes that Baby Bear's firm bed is like a jail cot. I LOVE firm beds...and bed-sharing was why we bought a bed I wanted. Which leaves me with the couch. It's a nice couch, don't get me wrong. But a couch as a long-term sleeping situation sucks! I know I will figure it out, but it's hard to give up a reasonably comfortable situation...but no way am I sleeping with two babies!
And #3. I'm afraid to work on this one with anything else going on, but want to start it ASAP so that there is plenty of room between potty training and the baby coming home. I would like to mostly avoid regression...and I don't know if it's possible. I'm terrified of the "proven" training method of letting her go without any underpants at all, also. I live in a rental...with carpet. Ew. My mom just got me a bunch of training pants (those things are expensive when you think about having to buy diapers too!) so we'll probably work on this in a weeks or two! I'm both excited and dreading it all at once.
So thinking about it, and still plan to do a Mommy Must-Have Monday post...I was going to do my pregnancy necessities...Buuuuut in honor of LABOR day, I think I'll do labor and delivery must haves. :) Pretty excited to do my first organized post! :)
Also, I want to start working on my blog design! I know right now it's pretty generic! So this blog is officially under construction!
